When  I was young, completely bonkers

I would scale  trees to gather conkers

A broken branch (plus gravity)

Meant another trip to A and E

Cockles gathered from the shore

Apples rotten to the core

I’d eat mushrooms from the field

Gosh knows how I wasn’t killed

What’s this, an old rowing boat

Paddle it out, will it float?

It’s sprung a leak, we’re going down

How on earth did I never drown

Warnings given never heeded

You’ll lose an eye! are two needed?

Don’t play with matches and lighter fuel

D’ya fink I am some kind of fool?

WHOOOSHSHHH down to the burns unit

A broken arm, a fractured skull

Life as a kid was never dull

NOW… death is risked on a daily basis

Just by having untied laces
